Meet The Designer: By Hope Home
Inspired by Nature: Beautiful Linen Homewares from by Hope, Now at Mon Pote

At Mon Pote, we’re always excited to support local talent, especially when we get to collaborate with someone whose designs are as beautiful and thoughtful as Hope Wyatt’s from By Hope Home. We first got to know Hope through her visits to our shop as one of our regular customers, and since she’s based in Bristol, she’s practically a neighbour to us! We were immediately drawn to her fresh take on blending the beauty of the outdoors with functional, timeless designs. Hope’s printed table linens and cushions are not only made from sustainable materials like 100% European washed linen, but they also reflect her passion for nature, quality craftsmanship, and creating pieces that feel both modern and heirloom-worthy. We’re thrilled to stock her gorgeous collection and share her inspiring journey - from working in the world of fashion to creating her own homewares brand!
'I wanted to find a way to combine the beauty of nature with my passion for bringing people together to share food and celebrate moments!'
Hi Hope! We’re so thrilled to be stocking some of your beautiful linen homewares at Mon Pote, What inspired you to start By Hope?
Thank you so much! I am such a Mon Pote fan, so it is a bit of a moment for me! I launched By Hope during the covid pandemic. After finding comfort in nature during this time, I wanted to find a way to bring this into people’s homes. During this same time, I was inspired by Laura Jackson’s ‘make a meal of it’. I wanted to find a way to combine the beauty of nature with my passion for bringing people together to share food and celebrate moments.
Nature plays such an important role in your brand. How do you incorporate your love for the outdoors into the designs of your table linens and cushions?
All the paintings start off being inspired by what is growing seasonally to allow the launches to feel organic in when they are released e.g. Daffodils for Spring, meaning you can add simply add seasonal flowers or foraged foliaged to make dressing your table super easy!
With your background in womenswear design, how did that experience influence the way you approach creating homeware collections?
It was helpful when communicating with the factory in Lithuania to make sure the quality and make was as I wanted it. And also, when it comes to building the range and how it all sits together, this is definitely something that having a background in fashion helped with.
Your table linens and cushions are made from 100% European washed linen. What drew you to linen as a material?
Linen is one of the most hard-wearing natural fibres. You can pop it in your washing machine, and it gets softer with each wash. It is also naturally anti-bacterial and moth resistant. The linens are OEKO-TEX certified and made in a Green Energy certified factory in Lithuania. Not only does this mean no harmful chemicals are used in the process but it also means the linens are some of the finest quality. I am a firm believer in using what you adore everyday rather than saving for best, so the linens are designed to be used year after year, celebration after celebration. The heart of the brand’s ethos is a commitment to creating modern heirlooms that last, which is why all the qualities of the linen are so important.
Can you tell us a bit about your creative process and how you bring your nature-inspired ideas to life?
I wanted to design launches seasonally, so I am inspired by gorgeous gardens and hedgerows that spring to life throughout the year! I always start off with a mood board then the painting process starts from there.
'the pieces all start out as paintings, I like to think they are like a piece of art for your table or chair.'
What is it about table settings and home decor that excites you the most?
I love the idea of making hosting as easy as possible so you can spend more time chatting with your loved ones and drinking wine! Our linens and cushions bring the colour and pattern, so whether it’s a fancy dinner or a pizza night, most of the table dressing is done for you! Add some seasonal blooms and you’re done.
Do you have any favourite seasonal flowers or colours that inspire your collections?
I love having a pop of colour on a soft linen colour – like the poppy orange of the Nasturtiums against the soft cream linen. I think it brings colour into your home without going wild!
What do you hope your customers feel when they bring your pieces into their homes?
Joy! I believe our homes have a large impact to our wellbeing. They should be our place of comfort. As a part of this I think being in nature has a huge effect on our mental health so I love to think our linens can bring this feeling into your space and home.
As the pieces all start out as paintings, I like to think they are like a piece of art for your table or chair. I have a linen on my table all year round - it just brightens up the room!
What do you think makes a home feel truly special and timeless?
I don't think you have to spend a fortune it is just being clever with the standout bits you buy. Buying from smaller businesses will always make your home feel more unique. And also, about 100 candles and never having the big light on.
What’s next for By Hope? Are there any new designs or upcoming products you’re excited about that you can share with us?
Always new designs on their way….! We have also just launched reversible placemats which I super happy with.
Finally, what’s one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to add a personal, nature-inspired touch to their home?
You don’t have to spend a fortune on flowers, this time of year is great as you can pick up a £1 bunch of daffodils to brighten your home! Oh, and buy a By Hope piece from Mon Pote….
The By Hope collection is now available online in limited quantities! Check out more of her beautiful designs over on Instagram. Special thanks to Bristol florists Immy and Georgie at Ivory Flowers for creating our beautiful flowering display to coincide with the collection.
