Keep it stylish this New Year.
As the festive season draws to a close, whatever your plans may be we hope you've had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to the what the New Year brings. As with the last two years we may be faced with a similar situation of forever changing plans, but we feel it's best to take that in our stride and opt for a low-key New Year's eve instead. After all with the madness of Christmas it's well worth taking some down to be spend quality time with your nearest and dearest. While we're now taking a break from online orders for the Christmas season we thought we'd turn our attention onto the store and to what North Street has to offer.
North Street is part of the bustling centre of Bedminster in the BS3 area and is a great hub for independent shopping and food, which is why we thought we'd take our time to share some of our favourites and offer up some inspiration for planning a low-key, yet stylish New Year's eve in.
Why not pick up some nibbles and appetisers from Southville Deli, choose from a selection of artisan bread and cheese in their small, organic and fair trade deli. You can also browse their range of plastic-free kitchen staples.
Take inspiration from Southville Deli and offer up a grazing board for your loved ones, with some delicious and local cheese from Bristol and the surrounding areas with cheeses from Somerset and Bath. Take the pressure of making dessert and stock up on some of their hearty and decadent desserts from the Deli counter, or keep it simple with some fair trade chocolate.
Now the food's sorted, next is to drink. North Street has some excellent choices for fine wines and speciality beer. For example, if you have guests who love their beer, then why not check out Bristol Beer Factory at the end of North Street opposite the Tabacco Factory, and shop a range of beers from IPA's and Pale ales, Stouts and Ambers, as well as larger. You can even pick up some alcohol-free IPAs 'Clear Headed' if you're cutting back as part of your New Year's resolutions. The great news is that they offer a selection of boxes of beer such as the BBF box which might be a good choice for trying a variety of beers.
Knowing what wine to stock up on can be tricky, which is why we suggest a trip down to Corks North Street and choose from a selection of wines, from organic, vegan, gluten-free and biodynamic. You can even browse their website for available stock in-store to avoid any disappointment. You can also purchase wines made in Bristol such as Vermouth made by The Aperitivo! Co. The team are friendly have lots of knowledge on what would make a great pairing based on your food selection, pop in and say hello.
Want to get your table looking stylish for the special night? We suggest plating up with some of our Pearl White China dinner sets to add a luxury feel to your New Year's eve, as well as of some our stunning House Doctor Champagne flutes. And of course, serving your delicious cheese from Southville Deli one of our reclaimed wooden chopping boards from the Original Home.
Whatever you get up to this New Year, we hope you and your loved ones see out 2021 in style and Anna and the rest of the team at Mon Pote wish you a happy New Year.
