Three Interior Home Decor Trends for 2022

Interior Trends for 2022

It's the start of a new year and after packing away the decorations we're ready to freshen up our interiors for 2022. We've identified three key trends for home and interiors.

2022 Homeware Trend: Interiors That Sing

Packed full of imaginative and original interior products, this interior style for 2022 is seeking inspiration from the new Scandinavian look. With a fresh wave of creative interior designers, such as Beata Heuman, leading the way, this more eclectic approach sees 'trends' put aside for a curated collection of homewares with more personal meaning.
This new movement takes from 'Cottagecore' and 'Grandmillenial' trends, but is all together cooler and more carefree in 2022, woo!  Key themes we're seeing for this style are prints and patterns in upholstery and wallpaper, scalloped edges, pleats and checkerboard tiles. Colour trends look to be bolder and brighter in general and are especially important if you're going for this look.
Think, playful, floral, tactile and unique with a touch of vintage.

japandi homewares

2022 Homeware Trend: Japandi

The mixing of Scandinavian and Japanese interiors to create stunning design in your home. This 2022 homeware trend focuses Scandi functionality and Japanese rustic minimalism creating a fusion based around function and form and honing in on clean lines, bright space and light airy colours.
This trend is perfect if you like to create a serene, spa like atmosphere at home. Think soft, neutral colours, cream boucle upholstery, and natural materials. Key items to include in your Japandi interior are paper lamp shades, wooden homewares, wabi-sabi (perfectly imperfect) ceramics and leafy green plants.
If like me your home is already styled with Scandi homewares, updating to this new homeware trend in 2022 should be easy!

70s Revival

2022 Homeware Trend: 70's Revival

We're excited to see the return of the best of 70s interior design with a modern twist in 2022. While the iconic orange was popular in the 70s this trend focuses more on warm earthy colours, which we love here at Mon Pote.
70s revival focuses on creating a warm atmosphere, curved furnishings and a mixture of bold patterns of the key signature looks in this trend are statement lamps, loud prints, curved edges, soft geotactic shapes and earthy hues. What might inspire you while redecorating with 70s revival in mind? Retro interiors, animal prints, beaded fringe, trinkets and low lighting, don't be scared to play and mix things up.
